(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis celebrated the Easter Sunday liturgy in St. Peter’s Square. In his Easter message, the Pope called for peace and stability in the world’s most conflict-ridden countries, and then bestowed his blessing Urbi et Orbi. An estimated 150,000 people were in attendance.

(Vatican Radio) “We must be servants for one another”. The Pope reminded the faithful of this during Mass in cena Domini on Holy Thursday, 17 April, at the centre of Santa Maria della Privvidenza, run by the Don Gnocchi foundation, in Rome. During the celebration, attended by patients and their families, staff and volunteers, the Pontiff washed the feed of twelve disabled people: eight men and four women between the age of 16 and 86, nine Italians and three foreigners, one of whom is Muslim.

(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis held his weekly General Audience on Wednesday – the Wednesday of Holy Week or “Spy Wednesday” as it is called in many parts of the English-speaking world. The Gospel reading of the day recounts Judas’ betrayal of Jesus, which sets in motion the events of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.
