 | Held by the Antiochian Orthodox St Elias Cathedral- Ottawa, and with the participation of officials, clergy and journalists, the Lebanese 20th Festival in Canada was marked by two celebrations: Raising the Lebanese flag at the City Hall in the attendance of Ottawa’s Mayor O’Brien White, the Charge d’Affaires George Abou Zeid, St Elias Cathedral Servant Fr. Ghattas Hajal, in addition to a crowd of officials and people of the Lebanese community.
This event was followed by unfurling the flag at the Police headquarters, decorating Ottawa’s sky for a whole week and giving it a Lebanese aspect. On this occasion, Fr. Ghattas Hajal delivered a speech, mentioning the Lebanese important role in building the Canadian society on all levels and affirming their attachment to their homeland Lebanon.
The Canadian and Lebanese flags were displayed everywhere in the streets leading to the festival’s square where entertaining, artistic, Lebanese and traditional activities were held.
