July 1 - Christian Life and Sports: 2010 World Cup’s Special Programs on Tele Lumiere
Beirut, July 1, 2010 (Signis) - The Ball In Your Court is a new special program produced by and broadcasted on the Lebanese Christian satellite channel Tele Lumiere/Noursat, in parallel with the 2010 World Cup.

Many questions and issues are raised in this special program hosting youth groups from many parishes and universities, discussing with enthusiasm this worldwide event and the ways to look at sports from a Christian point of view.

"Today, everyone supports a team to win the World Cup. Indeed, football and Christianity have common values that deepen the spiritual life," says Marie-Therese Kreidy, Programs Director. "Every day, as well as in each match, we feel the competition, run, fall down and score a goal that shakes the “net of our life”. We win or loose... And so on, till time comes and the arbitrator declares the end. Then we reap what we sowed. It is completely similar to football, we are united in solidarity, involved into dialogue and we persevere to maintain the ball in our court, how can this be done? How can you be a competent player in the Lord’s field?"

The channel, who had a youth football team, launched The Ball In Your Court to be a Christian view on sports, football and competition.

The program is in two parts, a weekly 2 hours live episode broadcasted every Wednesday at peak time, 20h30, and a daily 5 minutes program broadcasted several times.

The show is hosted by Father Joseph Soueid, a parish priest from the Diocese of Beirut, music composer and author of many religious books, known for his work with the youth.
